This book was not written in isolation. It was shaped by every person, every experience, and every moment that encouraged me to keep searching, questioning, remembering, and writing.

My deepest gratitude belongs to Shel, whose love, devotion, passion, strength, and presence carried light into some of the darkest chapters of my life. Across time, illness, sorrow, change, many thousands of miles, and an ocean between us, the bond we shared became woven into the person I am and into every page of this book.

Your compassion gave me shelter when life felt unbearable. Your belief in me gave me strength when my own strength was fading. Your love reached me across many thousands of miles, with an ocean between us, and reminded me that the deepest connections are not measured by distance, time, or circumstance.

You were the bell that woke me.
You were the light that helped guide me home.

You awakened within me a devotion, passion, and love that words may never fully express. Even when life carried us along different roads, what we shared remained part of my heart, my awakening, and my journey. An echo of you lives within these pages, and my gratitude, devotion, passion, and love for you will always remain.

I also give thanks to my mum. Although I lost her when I was very young, her love did not disappear from my life. A child may lose the physical presence of a mother, but the love she gave can remain quietly within the heart for a lifetime.

There are moments when I wonder who I might have become had she been able to remain beside me for longer. Yet I also recognise that her love, however brief our time together may have been, became part of the foundation upon which my life was built. Her absence shaped many of the questions I carried, but her memory also helped shape the compassion, sensitivity, and longing for love that eventually found their way into this book.

To my Nan and Gramps, who played such an important part in my life, I offer my deepest gratitude. When my world changed, you gave me a home, stability, protection, and the reassurance that I was not alone. Your care helped carry me through years I could not fully understand at the time.

You gave me more than shelter.
You gave me belonging.

The love, patience, values, and guidance you offered became part of who I am. Much of what was good and steady in my life grew from the foundations you helped create. Your presence shaped my childhood, influenced the man I became, and remains part of the strength I carry today.

I am grateful to every person who stood beside me through illness, uncertainty, grief, loss, and change. Your compassion reminded me that love is often expressed not through great speeches, but through quiet loyalty, patience, and simply remaining present when life becomes difficult.

I give thanks to the teachers, writers, seekers, spiritual voices, and ordinary people whose lives and words planted seeds of faith, courage, devotion, wisdom, and discernment within me. Some guided me through what they taught. Others guided me through the questions they inspired.

I am also grateful for every difficult season. Pain was never the teacher I would have chosen, yet it revealed strength, understanding, and compassion that comfort alone could never have uncovered. Even the roads that appeared to lead away from the Light eventually became part of the journey back towards it.

To every reader who has opened these pages, thank you.

A book remains silent until someone gives it their attention. By reading these parables, reflecting upon them, questioning them, and allowing them to meet your own experiences, you have become part of the journey of the Messenger.

Keep whatever brings greater love, peace, wisdom, and truth.
Leave behind whatever does not.
Walk your own path. Listen to your own heart. Never surrender the light of discernment within you.

Through illness, grief, uncertainty, loneliness, and every difficult road I was asked to walk, that Presence remained with me. It cared for me when I felt forgotten, strengthened me when I believed I had nothing left, and loved me even during the moments when I struggled to love myself.

I give thanks for every unseen act of guidance, every moment of protection, every quiet whisper that encouraged me to continue, and every light that appeared when the path ahead seemed dark.

The God Within never abandoned me.

It waited patiently beneath the fear, the pain, and the noise of the world, reminding me that I was still loved, still guided, and still part of something greater.

This book was written through that guidance.
